avr-libc software package provides Standard C library for Atmel AVR development, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install avr-libc
avr-libc is installed in your system.
Make ensure the avr-libc package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep avr-libc *
You will get with avr-libc package name, version, architecture and description in a table
